the photographer you didN’t know you needed.

I didn’t become a photographer because I wanted to make “pretty pictures.”
I became one because I was done watching people shrink themselves to fit some fake version of perfect.

It all started when…

Midwest emo kid turned photographer, I grew up in a nowhere town where people talked more about what you looked like than who you were.

Now? I give people a space to show up exactly as they are — no “shoulds,” no Pinterest checklist, no trying to pass for something you’re not.

Boudoir is my heartbeat — not because lingerie is the point, but because it’s the loudest, boldest way I know to flip the bird to every crappy thing you’ve ever been told about your body. But that same energy lives in everything I shoot — couples tangled up in their own world, families in the middle of beautiful chaos, seniors owning exactly who they are right now.

My own life? Blended, loud, beautifully imperfect. I’m a kid of divorced parents, a teen mom, and someone who’s lived through things that left scars — inside and out.

So I know how it feels to not see yourself in the “perfect” family photos that flood magazines. That’s why I decided to make my own kind of space — one where:

Normal is whatever the hell you want it to be.

Love looks like blended families, two moms, chosen family, or just you owning your story.

You don’t clean up who you are to deserve a spot in front of the camera.

HEY

I’M kierstin

illinois based photographer for bad as f*** people!

Here’s the deal — I work with people who have zero interest in playing pretend.
If you’re here for stiff smiles and beige vibes, I’m not your girl.

Boudoir with me is not about “acting sexy” — it’s about being you in your own skin, without apology. It’s about laughing mid-pose, saying “f*ck it” to the rules, and leaving with proof that you’re already enough.

And the same goes for my general sessions — whether it’s your partner quoting The Office mid-kiss, your kid nailing an unironically perfect dab, or your best friend photobombing like it’s still 2012. I speak fluent Awkward Millennial™ and know how to turn those weird, in-between moments into chef’s-kiss

No “act natural” crap. No fake perfection. Just you, in all your real, unfiltered, probably-a-little-chaotic glory.

not your average photographer

here’s how i’m different

no. 1
I don’t do “perfect.”
You won’t see me chasing Pinterest poses or editing you into a wax figure. Your crooked smile, the way your kid’s hair never stays down, the tattoo you half-regret? That’s the good stuff — we keep it.

no.2
I’m in it with you.
I’m not the quiet, awkward photographer hiding behind the camera. I’m the one hyping you up, yelling “holy shit, that’s gorgeous,” and making sure you forget there’s even a lens between us.
no. 3
Your vibe runs the show.
Boudoir, families, couples — it’s all built around you. No scripts, no one-size-fits-all timelines. I meet you where you are and make it work, whether that’s barefoot in your living room or dressed to kill in a parking garage.

"Absolutely amazing to work with! makes you feel so comfortable and confident!"

A few of my favorite things

No.1 fav snack:

French Fries

Dream session to shoot:

It's actually this boudoir-style photo project called “Shitty Things People Say About Women.” that I've been brain storming, It’s raw, unapologetic, and basically my love letter to smashing double standards. (If this makes you think “hell yes” instead of “oh no,” we’ll get along great.)

If I could eat one meal for the rest of my life it would be:

crunchy crab sushi roll :p

Fav animal:

dogs… but I also have an unhealthy desire to own a raccoon.

Fav way to prep for a session:

Re-reading your questionnaire while blasting screamy emo music in the car.
